I used to tell customers, “We can match any color!” But now I know—it’s not that simple.
There are countless colors in this world, and sure, some might be easy. But today’s challenge was a vibrant pink, and bright saturated colors are apparently the toughest to mix.
I tried again and again, and just when I finally felt I got it… it was already time to go home. We have a limited range of pigments, different base materials, and the color behaves differently on paper than it does on a bike frame.
Even if it looks perfect on paper, once sprayed on the frame, it can be totally off.
Color mixing is truly difficult. But I’ll keep practicing—one mix at a time.
I wonder… Is there something like perfect pitch for color? Like, a “perfect hue sense”?
